How to call you? is an exploration of identity, the roles we occupy, and the ones—often different—we wish to take on.
Painted portraits come to life through the bodies that extend them. Like masks, they reveal only a torso or a pair of legs. The plasticity of the dancers’ bodies highlights the flatness of the canvases. Through text, these figures are given new lives, new—perhaps false—identities.
The relationship between spectators and artworks is disrupted:
The paintings leave the walls to take the stage, while the audience remains fixed, seated in the hall. The gallery moves around us, watching us as much as we watch it.
